The phrase “most terrifying incident in a submarine” is somewhat redundant, because every second in a submarine is terrifying.  Even when nothing is happening.  Getting depth charged by the Russians certainly doesn’t help.  W. Craig Reed, AKA Bill, experienced both of these things and lived.  I guess it takes a certain type.
