The Multilingual States of America – #1931-1

Have you ever thought about your state’s name?  Some of them are pretty obvious.  New York, for example.  It’s York, but new.  The majority, however, are less obvious, mostly because they’re in a different language.  A lot of states are named after Indian words with a smattering of French and Spanish.  Never let it be said that we’re not an educational podcast.  When we feel like it, of course.
