In a world of negativity, sometimes the only thing you can do is be even more negative than everyone else.  That way, the world looks like a positive place in comparison.  It’s like being the tallest person at a short person convention.  That’s why we only consume mainstream media and horror movies.  Can’t get more negative than that.
