The world’s gone mad.  Vitriol online.  News media you can’t trust.  Species going extinct.  Terrible music, and that one’s according to Don McLean.  And if anyone knows music, it’s him.  Not that there’s not good stuff out there.  It’s just nothing like it was years ago, when songwriters were musician-poets by rule rather than exception.
